BIOGRAPHY

1962 Carmo Henrique Vieira was born in Guarulhos SP-Br 1975-78 At 13 he attends EPA (Panamerican School of Art), with a major in “graphics, cartoon and animation”. In the same period, Carmo pursues his other passion, soccer, and takes part in tryouts for everal teams in the Southeastern Region of the São Paulo State. 1979 he continues his course of studies at Fiam (Facoltà Integrata Alcantara Machado), attaining a bachelor degree in “Communication and Society”. 1989-94 Meeting with the painter Jorge Mori, of Japanese-Brazilian ascendance. In his atelier Carmo experiments with the pictorial techniques of the Flemish Masters and starts working with materials and glazing. He learns how to prepare his canvases, using chalk and glue coatings and similarly how to mix his own colours and special oils. 1991 he refines his drawing technique studying with the Russian painter and artist Elena Nikitina. 1992-96 He meets the Surrealist painter Octavio Araujo. The two artists, now close friends, travel together across Europe visiting the museums in Gent, Antwerpen, Bruges and Rome. 1994 He develops a deep interest for the work of Caravaggio and as a consequence he spends some time in Rome. It is a period of frequent travels to several European capital cities where he pays visits to the most relevant art museums and collections. he is particularly attracted to Rembrandt’s style. 1996-99 Admission to the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Rome, where he attends the “Scuola Libera del Nudo”.
 2000 Albert o Manodori , profe s sor i n “Hi s tory of Photography” at Tor Vergata in Rome respoends enthusiastically to Carmo’s pictorial technique and style and introduces him to professor Salvatore Italia, then director of the Ministry for Arts and Culture, who promotes the organization of a personal exhibition in the 16th century castle at l’Aquila, Abruzzo. 2003-2008 These years are devoted to Carmo’s other great passion: soccer. Back in Brazil, he works together with an Italian entrepreneur, to create a soccer team in the central region of Brazil, the “Brasil Central Sport Clube” at Cuiabà-Mt. After intensive studies he is accredited as a FIFA agent. Carmo travels widely in the heart of Brazil scooping up young talents who will subsequently be engaged by numerous Serie A clubs in Italy and in Ligue 1 in France. Parallel to this very demanding activity, Carmo does not neglect his artistic career and takes part in a major exhibition at Biblioteca Vallicelliana, Palazzo Borromini, Roma, curated by the prestigious professor Claudio Strinati, then superintendent at the Ministry for Arts and Culture. In 2005 birth of his first daughter Rafaella. 2009 he ends his cooperation with “Brasil Central” and becomes fully engaged in art. Parallel to his work as an artist he cultivates his favourite sport, soccer. 2009- 2013 he attends the course “desenho ao vivo” at the São Paulo Association of Fine Arts. He also takes weekly lessons in “desenho artistico” organized by the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo. 2014 He settles down in Gandria, Switzerland. The marriage with Alessandra and Pietro’s birth radically change his professional, artistic and personal perspective. 2014-2017 These are very fruitful years filled with exhibition projects and creativity.
